Update January 5, 2021
As you may have heard or seen in the news, the State of California has allowed Churches to reopen for indoor services. In his letter of December 21, 2020, Archbishop José H. Gomez noted that while we can go inside, it will be safer to continue celebrating outdoor Masses. Likewise, Los Angeles County Public Health strongly recommends that places of worship continue to hold services outdoors. While we welcome this news, we are also conscious of the current dire circumstances caused by the rampant spread of the coronavirus especially in Southern California. We live in an epicenter.
As a staff we have determined it is best for our community’s safety to continue to hold Mass outdoors on our plaza, where we can accommodate more people than we could inside the church due to social distancing rules. Remember, if you are ill or are of high-risk, please stay home. We thank you for your understanding. We thank all our ministers and hospitality teams who have aided in our outdoor liturgies. Huge thanks to our wonderful livestream crew who have brought the Mass to those at home. Let us continue to pray for the afflicted, for healthcare and essential workers, for the effectiveness of the vaccine and for an end to the pandemic.
Know that you are all in our prayers. Msgr. Paul, Msgr. Peter, Fr. Mark, the deacons and staff.
