Get on the Bus Thank You

Thank you for your continued generosity in supporting the Get on the Bus (GOTB) mission. This past Lenten season, St. Lawrence Martyr collected $4,172.31 towards sponsoring a bus to  Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) in Chowchilla. CA.

After years of closures, restrictions, and many challenges, GOTB was able to visit CCWF on May 13 for a Mother’s Day visit. Keeping children connected with their mother’s is a critical part of the GOTB mission. GOTB personnel and volunteers accompanied the families to the prison with 3 buses, to reunite a total of 95 family members, which included children, their caregivers, and incarcerated parents. As visits to the prison resumed, CCWF prison personnel brought in service animals for petting and pictures, and porters served as face painters. GOTB provided KFC meals and were much appreciated by both children and adults. The trip was a success, and we have you to thank!
