    Cookie Ministry

Baking is one very special way to enjoy helping out the church. Our bakers provide cookies (and other baked goods) for regular meetings, church celebrations and outreach programs, which our Parish supports. Volunteers are welcome to bake as often as their schedule permits.

    Eucharistic Minister to the Sick
    • Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the Sick

Our Eucharistic Ministers bring the Eucharist to anyone sick or confined at home. They also bring the Eucharist each week to patients of local hospitals and convalescent facilities. Special training is provided. Just an hour or two during the week or on the weekend would be your gift of time.

    F.A.I.T.H Ministry
    • F.A.I.T.H. MINISTRY

The F.A.I.T.H. (Freedom and Intervention for the Trafficking of Humans) Ministry supports the victims of human trafficking in the South Bay and in Los Angeles County.

Shelters helping human trafficking victims always need toiletries to distribute to young women and men rescued from their terrible struggles. Your donation of travel-sized toiletries is always appreciated; items may be brought to the SLM Pastoral Center during regular office hours. Thank you for your continued support.

    Food Pantry/Christian Service Outreach
    • FOOD PANTRY/Christian Service Outreach

Christian Service Outreach consists of a group serving people in need, including the homeless. They manage the SLM Food Pantry which provides local needy families with hot meals, bags of groceries and homeless people with sack lunches.  Used clothing and blankets, along with Easter baskets and Christmas gifts, are also provided.

All of this comes from your incredible generosity, the parishioners of St. Lawrence. Food can be dropped off at the Pastoral Center during business hours.  Food is collected at all Sunday Masses using the K.I.D.S. (Kids-Into-Doing-Service) Red Wagons.

    Knights of Columbus
    • Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus group within our parish has taken on Columbus inspiration to call forth our courage, to follow our dreams for a better community, and to see how we can contribute to the people within it.

Through fundraising efforts, the Knights help support the vocations of seminarians, the homeless and hungry, and several youth projects in the South Bay.

Membership is available to all Catholic men in the parish over the age of 18 and family participation is encouraged.
