Angel Gowns Ministry We are excited to announce a new ministry at SLM! We have created a satellite group that is affiliated with Angel Gowns of South Bay, making gowns for children who have died before, during, or shortly after birth. Generous people from all over Southern California have donated their old wedding gowns to…
Volunteer teams from our various parish groups serve coffee, tea, punch, fresh donuts and bagels after the 7:00 and 9:00am Sunday Masses. Everyone is welcome in the hall where our parish family enjoys an atmosphere of friendship, community, and belonging. Come join us soon!

Baking is one very special way to enjoy helping out the church. Our bakers provide cookies (and other baked goods) for regular meetings, church celebrations and outreach programs which are supported by our Parish. Volunteers are welcome to bake as often as their schedule permits.

Our Eucharistic Ministers bring the Eucharist to anyone who is sick or confined at home. They also bring the Eucharist each week to patients of local hospitals and convalescent facilities. Just an hour or two during the week or on the weekend would be your gift of time. Special training is provided.

The mission of Family Promise of the South Bay is to work through local churches to change the lives of homeless families with children by offering temporary shelter, meals, and other assistance as they seek stable housing.
Up to 14 guests stay overnight on site at Host congregations on a weekly, rotating basis. St Lawrence, as a support parish to Host Resurrection Lutheran Church, provides volunteers to help bring food (cold breakfast and lunch items and prepared dinners), dine and spend evening time with the families, stay overnight, and provide loving care.
We are always in need of volunteers; please contact us if you are willing to help. Please contact Mary Frances Bertucci at (310) 428-9123.
“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”- Matthew 25:40
Christian Service Outreach consists of a group of people doing service for people in need, and those who are homeless. They manage the SLM Food Pantry which provides local needy families with hot meals, bags of groceries and homeless people with sack lunches. Used clothing and blankets are also provided, along with Easter baskets and Christmas gifts.
All of this comes from the wonderful generosity of you, the parishioners of St. Lawrence. Food can be dropped off at the Pastoral Center Office during business hours. Food is also collected at all Sunday Masses using the K.I.D.S. (Kids-Into-Doing-Service) Red Wagons.

The Knights of Columbus group within our parish has taken on Columbus inspiration to call forth our own courage, to follow our dreams for a better community, and to see how we can contribute to the people within it.
Through fundraising efforts the Knights help support the vocations of seminarians, the homeless and hungry, and several youth projects in the South Bay.
Membership is available to all Catholic men in the parish over the age of 18 and family participation is encouraged as well.
