RCIA is an open-ended process of spiritual formation for children and/or teenagers interested in experiencing the beautiful Catholic faith tradition. It is important for children and teens to learn who God is, why He loves us. We want our candidates to know how being a part of something bigger affects our daily life & all that we do!
RCIA is for Individuals who are:
A person may begin at any time of the year with no commitment and no obligation. For children & teens, if they decide to continue their faith journey, they will prepare in RCIA for at least 1 liturgical year prior to receiving the sacraments and becoming Catholic. *For example, if someone enters RCIA in September of 2022, they will continue to participate in RCIA and may receive their Sacraments at Easter 2024*
During RCIA, we have a team committed to your child/teen's faith and want to help them deepen - or start - their relationship with Christ through learning about our faith and experiencing the Sacraments. The St. Lawrence Community in general is also so supportive of RCIA and we are always excited to welcome new members into our Parish Community!
If you are considering having your child/teen become involved in RCIA, or they have expressed interest in becoming Catholic themselves, please do not hesitate to contact me with questions!
Blessings,
Kacie Riordan, Director of Youth RCIA, Confirmation & Jr. High
